I now regularly go to the gym and have been going on actual runs outdoors, which for me is a big step due to a lack of confidence.
I most commonly have a protein shake post-workout. I have never liked the standard protein shake powders, as I find they have an unpleasant chemical/artificial taste. I've tried out a load of my own recipes, however this one is definitely my current favourite.
It is a creamy banana and almond milk shake with vanilla, almond butter and chia seeds, all of which adds up to about 15g of protein.
250ml unsweetened almond milk
1 large or 2 small frozen bananas
1 tbsp sprouted rice protein powder
1 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp almond butter (or your favourite nut butter)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Add ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. Simple!
